Partire all’estero per il pranzo di Natale può essere sempre una scommessa, ma dopo aver prenotato il pranzo mesi prima su internet, mi sono trovata davanti a una piacevolissima sorpresa. Il cibo era semplicemente divino, dall’antipasto al dolce, ogni piatto era impeccabile. È sicuramente uno dei miei pranzi di Natale preferiti! L'atmosfera era familiare e accogliente, con una combinazione perfetta di tradizione e innovazione. La proprietaria siciliana e il suo compagno, un inglese, hanno creato un ambiente unico che si riflette anche nelle pietanze, che mescolano sapientemente le loro origini. L’accoglienza e il servizio sono stati impeccabili, calorosi e mai invadenti. La cucina ci ha davvero stupite: una riuscitissima commistione tra l’ospitalità tipicamente italiana e i sapori della tradizione inglese delle feste. We met Dave and Pina who own the restaurant and Dave is the chef. They opened early for us as we were attending a carol service, as we have friends in Larnaca, and decided to travel from the Uk and spend Christmas here. Service was great. The starters we enjoyable, but the steaks were fantastic. Dave cooked as each individual wanted and the selection was varied. The set menu was also a good choice, but you would have to be hungry to eat it. The deserts were few but who cares when each one was produced in house and the cheesecake was to die for. The staff, front of house, were attentive and knowledgeable and made the women feel special with their choice of food and wines. Please do go. It’s one place in Larnaca where the whole team want you to come and have fun, enjoy the food and wine and want to come back. We booked for Christmas Day as the experience was really good. Thanks all. Took my husband for a birthday treat from the very first moment of entrance greeted aand entered a cosy beautiful decorated restaurant with open fire . Such a good start and felt so cosy ! Menu a great selection we had steak rack of lamb and duck oh my !it just melted cooked to perfection we have travelled a lot and by far the best meat ever cooked . Gorgeous soup as starter and a desert with a candle for hubbys birthday a lovely touch Father and son could not have given us a better welcome fantastic hospatality and a wonderful waiter with knowledge and the right table manner with a smile . An evening perfect from begining to end . Before leaving we have made a reservation for a sunday lunch we cant wait to return to such a fantastic find . Although i ve been many years back twice in the past, said to go with friends . Service good, empty though. Xsmas mood lovely but the fact they close early makes you feel a bit uncomfortable. No options on desserts and whatever that only available dessert was, as they said a south african origin one, was terrible! Really off. Maybe this restaurant needs more advertisment to get more well known. Closing cuisine very early though, is not working in cyprus. Not happy really.Posted onVerified Fantastic Steak and Duck - Great Restaurant Had a friend here from the US in October (meant to do a review before but was just reminded that I hadn't) and I thought he might like a steak at our favourite steak house in Cyprus but no he went for the duck. We were all trying to decide and then Dean brought the Australian Sirloin Steak out to show us - wow - it was such a delicious steak cooked to perfection. We shared a bottle of the house red wine - it was from France and just delicious. My friend loved his duck - he said it was perfect and he tried our steaks and loved them as well. Back in Cyprus after a gap of more than 10 years and top of our list was a visit to Red Pepper to catch up with Dean and see what he and Pino have been up to :) The restaurant itself is lovely - new location new name since last time - and the welcome was warm and friendly. Some old favourites on the menu and new treats too. Salt and pepper squid just as tender and tasty as we remembered and for mains we had a steak, duck and tuna … all cooked perfectly and delicious! The wine was the house red which is well priced and very palatable. Tiramasu between us for dessert as we were stuffed! Light and sweet and a splendid way to complete our meal. Dean and son Seb (front of house) were perfect hosts and it was great to catch up with all the news. Red Pepper fully deserves its high ranking and if you are looking for a special meal in Larnaca we can thoroughly recommend. The turkey and lamb were excellent. Proceeded by a warm soup to act as an appetising start to lunch. Starters were fantastic especially the terrine. Wine choice was also good as it complemented each course. Mains were hearty and with plenty of vegetables and potatoes this was a genuine Christmas dinner. Hats, presents and crackers went every inch to make this a Christmas dinner far from the family. Dean [and Dave] together with Pina made is a special day for us and friends.
